Blackpool Football Club can confirm the appointment of Steve Rowland as Supporters’ Liaison Officer.
One of four people to apply and be interviewed for the role, Steve will act as an advocate for both the club and the fan base, proactively dealing with a variety of supporter-related issues and liaising with counterpart SLO’s at other clubs.
Having been a founding member of the Blackpool Supporters’ Trust, Steve has built up a valuable network of contacts and experience, serving as Press Officer, Chairman and currently Secretary of BST.
Now the main point of call for supporters and supporter groups, Steve will be based at the stadium, where he can communicate effectively with club officials and the board, opening up a line of continual dialogue and feedback between all parties.
On his appointment, Steve Rowland said:
"As a lifelong Blackpool fan, I am both honoured and excited to be appointed as the club’s new Supporters’ Liaison Officer.
“Now that a better future is starting to unfold for us, I firmly believe that a dedicated Supporters’ Liaison Officer is going to be a vital role as we look to reunite the fan base, reconnect the club with the community and start to realise the huge potential to turn Blackpool FC into an exciting place to be once more.
“Our aim should be to offer an atmosphere and a match day experience that will put BFC firmly back as the beating heart of the town and make it the envy of other clubs, and I look forward to helping to bring that transformation about."
The club will publicise ways to contact Steve in the coming days.
