Mark Howard looks set to miss the rest of the season after snapping his Achilles in Blackpool’s 3-0 defeat at Burton Albion.
The goalkeeper fell awkwardly in the 14th minute of the match and immediately called for assistance, prior to being stretchered off.
“It doesn’t look good. He’s been superb for us and it’s not good news for us or him. We wish him all the best," manager Terry McPhillips said post-match.
“If that’s the case and that’s what he has done (snapped his Achilles), he’ll miss the rest of the season.”
The injury to Howard just compounded an all-round bad day at the office for The Seasiders, who were well off the pace at the Pirelli Stadium.
“We were really poor today. There’s a few of them who have held their hands up in the dressing room because they know it’s not good enough. It’s not us and it’s not acceptable.
“I’m really concerned at the lack of goalscoring because if you can’t score, then you don’t win games.”
