Terry McPhillips heaped massive praise on the boisterous Blackpool away support, who cheered The Seasiders on to victory at Accrington Stanley last night.
More than 1,800 Pool fans packed out two sides of the Wham Stadium and created a real, party atmosphere throughout, as the team recorded a 2-1 win.
“I thought our fans were magnificent all the way through, before and after. It does help. Going off the second-half, we raised our game,” McPhillips said.
“It’s a massive win for us, we needed that. Most importantly, I thought we needed the performance because the fighting spirit that we always show was missing a little on the weekend. It was great to have a game straight after that one.
“I’m really pleased for the players and the fans, the club, the staff, everybody. That was a real occasion, and we’ve just come out of it with the slender victory.”
Next up on the agenda is Saturday’s homecoming fixture against Southend United, with Bloomfield Road heading for a near sell-out.
“If Accrington was anything to go by, I can’t wait for Saturday now,” the manager added.
