McPhillips: Must Go On A Run

Manager Says Winning Momentum Required

15 March 2019

Terry McPhillips insists Blackpool must go on a winning run in order to make up ground and challenge for the play-offs.

The manager, speaking ahead of tomorrow’s fixture against Burton Albion, was quick to acknowledge that The Seasiders must turn a three-match unbeaten run, including two draws, into consistent victories.

“We know we’re capable. In the end we’re going to have to go on the best run probably if we’re going to do anything and get up into the play-off spots,” McPhillips said.

“We’re going to have to start winning some games, aren’t we? That’s the job ahead, and the lads know that.

“We had a special game here last Saturday and then on Tuesday night another good, special occasion, but we’ve only got two points. We feel we’re making enough chances to be winning some of these games.”

The challenge that lies in wait this weekend comes from 11th placed Burton Albion, who currently sit six points off The Seasiders.

“It’s a little, tight ground and there will be a good atmosphere there. It’ll be a tough game, but we’re confident that we can do well,” the manager added.
