Terry McPhillips praised the spirit within the Blackpool squad after his side battled back late on to draw 2-2 at Bloomfield Road.
It was an out of sorts display from the side for the majority of the 90 minutes, yet somehow the players rallied to salvage a point.
“They’ve got some spirit about them. We haven’t played great, have we today? They played our pitch better than us,” the manager said.
“In the last two home games that we’ve drawn, I think we’ve been the better team in both and scored late goals. But I couldn’t really see it coming today, apart from knowing the spirit that they’ve got and the good lads they are.
“I thought the crowd helped us again immensely and we were desperate to get them a win here. After we got one back, you start believing. Then ‘Tilt-aldinho’ as we call him scores his overhead kick.
“We didn’t play well. Simple as that. That’s football and there’s no guarantees, we can’t promise anyone we’re going to win a game, but I think we can promise that we’re going to have a go ‘til the end, and they did.”
