Adi Yussuf has become Blackpool’s first signing of the summer, putting pen-to-paper on an initial two-year contract plus 12-month option.
The forward, 27, joins the club as a free agent from Solihull Moors having scored 21 goals in all competitions this season, including two against the Seasiders in an Emirates FA Cup second round replay.
Recently called up to the Tanzania squad for the African Cup of Nations, Yussuf’s goalscoring exploits helped Solihull Moors finish second in the National League.
The former Leicester academy man hit a career best 29 goals in 39 games for Oxford City in the 2014/15 campaign and has previously sampled league football with Burton Albion, Mansfield Town and Crawley Town.
Adi Yussuf said:
“This is a dream come true for me. All the hard work and sacrifices I’ve made this year have paid off. I just want to give a big thanks to everyone that believed in me and everyone at Solihull. I’m sure I can do it in this league.”
Manager Terry McPhillips added:
“I’ve followed Adi’s career quite closely and he's always stood out whenever I’ve seen him play. He’s found a real level of consistency for Solihull Moors this season and we’ll now be looking for him to push on another level and score some goals for us.”
