Manager Terry McPhillips has revealed that Jimmy Ryan could well make his long-awaited return to action against Gillingham tomorrow.
The Seasiders’ club captain, 30, has endured a frustrating campaign, having suffered a knee injury at Rotherham 12 months ago.
Now back fit, he’s in line to have some form of run-out against The Gills following his appearance as an unused substitute last weekend.
“Jimmy was on the bench and his last game was Rotherham away in the last game of last season. I’m really pleased for Jimmy that he’s got himself going again and I’m sure he’ll feature,” McPhillips said.
“We all love Jimmy and he is the club captain - Jay has done a great job in his absence – but more so he’s a hell of a talent. It’ll be great to see him on Saturday.”
A couple of changes are expected to the Blackpool side for the season’s curtain closer, however there is a determination to give the supporters a performance and victory to be happy with.
“They’ve come back in their numbers and sang their hearts out every game. I really hope we can respond with a performance and a victory.
“We managed to get the win against Fleetwood, which was great for the fans and everyone involved. Now we want to finish on another victory,” the manager added.
