Delfouneso: Confidence Is High

Forward Hoping To Build On Consecutive Home Wins

8 November 2019

Nathan Delfouneso is hopeful back-to-back victories at home is the start of something good ahead of this weekend’s Emirates FA Cup game.

The Seasiders face League Two side Morecambe on Saturday afternoon at Bloomfield Road in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup, and after a recent league win over Peterborough United and a victory over Wolves U21 side, Delfouneso wants the team to push on and get into the second round.

“Confidence is high in camp at the moment after the two victories,” he said.

“The belief has always been there, but it was just a case of going out there and showing that on the pitch.

“We did well last week against Peterborough, but there is a lot we need to improve on and we’ve looked at that this week.

“It’s a case of showing that on the pitch on Saturday against Morecambe, and then we’ll see what happens.”

The Seasiders have had good experiences in the FA Cup in recent seasons, and Delfouneso is hopeful of history repeating itself again this time around.

“I’ve had some good experiences as well as bad in the FA Cup,” he explained.

“That’s part and parcel of the competition and part of the magic of what makes it so special. It’s a privilege to play in and I look forward to playing in it every season, so hopefully this season we can have another good cup run which will do wonders for our season as a whole.”
