Liam Feeney has acknowledged Blackpool will have to be on their game to claim all three points from tomorrow’s visit to Ipswich.
The Tractor Boys currently sit in second place in the Sky Bet League One table – three points behind Wycombe in first, but with two games in hand.
With this in mind, Feeney, who had a loan stint at Portman Road back in 2016, has admitted Blackpool will have to be at their best against an in-form Ipswich side on Saturday afternoon.
“We’re going to have to be on our game this weekend if we’re to go down there and get anything,” Feeney said.
“Ipswich are going to be up there this season, and they’ve shown that already with some of their results and performances they’ve had.
“Having said that, we’re in good form ourselves lately and scoring a good amount of goals. It’s starting to click a bit better for us now, so we’re not gong there with any fear and we’re going there with the intention to win the game.”
Portman Road has been a fortress for Ipswich this season, with Rotherham the only side to walk away with all three points so far, and Feeney is aware of just how important a victory there could be this weekend.
“We could make a real statement this weekend by going there and winning,” he admitted.
“We’ve both got real objectives to get out of this league, so I’m sure it will be a good match where we will both fight tooth and nail to get the three points.”
