Armand Gnanduillet believes his man-of-the-match performance against Peterborough on Saturday was the best way to respond after being left out of the starting XI last time out.
The frontman scored two goals in the 4-3 victory over Posh on Saturday, and proved a real handful for the visitors all afternoon, with his power and pace causing real issues.
Reflecting on his performance, Gnanduillet was pleased to show his best on the pitch once again.
“I’m pleased to get back scoring again,” Gnanduillet explained.
“I was disappointed to be on the bench against Burton, but felt I made a real statement against Peterborough.
“Every time you get an opportunity, you have to take it so I’m pleased to get the goals and more importantly the three points.”
As well as his own individual performance, the frontman who now has nine goals to his name this season, thinks the team showed tremendous character, considering the number of setbacks they had in the game.
“I think as a team we responded well to going a goal down so early on in the match. We managed the game well and played to our strengths and even though we conceded the three goals, I actually feel we defended well for long periods of the match.
“We are confident and know we have a good group. I think we showed in this game that we are a real threat as a group and we can beat anyone in this league, so hopefully this is the start of many good performances and wins in the coming weeks.”
