James Husband believes the squad can and will bounce back from Wednesday night’s defeat in this weekend’s Emirates FA Cup tie.
Blackpool host National League South side Maidstone United in the FA Cup on Sunday for a place in the coveted third round, but the team came under some criticism following the Leasing.com Trophy defeat to Scunthorpe United on Wednesday night.
“We need a reaction this weekend following the result and performance on Wednesday,” Husband said.
“It was disappointing and a few things were said after the game in the dressing room.
“We were all unhappy with how the game played out but all we can do is react now and put in a positive performance on Sunday.”
Sunday brings a good opportunity for the Seasiders to reach the third round again, having welcomed Arsenal to Bloomfield Road at that stage of the competition last season.
“We’re all looking forward to Sunday’s match,” Husband admitted.
“The opportunity to reach the third round and potentially get a big tie doesn’t come around very often, so we won’t be taking Sunday lightly.
“We’ve got to focus on the tie, and at the end of the day it’s 11 men against 11 men regardless of how many leagues difference there is between the two sides.
“Maidstone are going to do what they can to cause an upset and it’s down to us to be professional and show how good we can be.”
