Jay Spearing feels the victory over AFC Wimbledon on Saturday was a massive victory for the side.
The Seasiders came into the game as clear favourites, having won their last three matches in all competitions and scoring goals for fun of late.
Yet, despite high expectations of a victory, Blackpool had to be patient, with Armand Gnanduillet’s second half brace the difference between the two sides.
“We had to be patient in the game and take our time,” Spearing said.
“We knew our chances would come, it was only a matter of time, especially with a man like Armand (Gnanduillet) up top who is in such good form at the moment.
“We wore them down in the end and got the two goals we deserved to get the win.”
Despite being the favorites heading into the game, Spearing insists the squad never looks at that, and takes every game at face value.
“We don’t look at who’s the favourite and who’s not,” he insisted.
“We want to concentrate on what we do on the pitch and plan for everything game by game. We’ve still got a long way to go this season, and it’s exciting because I feel this team can grow even further.
“I think we can cause real problems for any team in this league, and we’ve proved that in recent weeks, so long may it continue.”
