The youth team bounced back with a comprehensive 6-0 victory in the Youth Alliance Cup at Port Vale on the weekend.
Tony Weston found the net twice, while further goals came from Andy Kanga, Aaron Turner, Nana Adarkwa and Cameron Antwi.
The under-18s took the lead inside 10 minutes, when Max Rogers played a fantastic through ball to Weston, who raced through on goal and slotted past Collinge.
Port Vale were then forced into an early change between the sticks, with substitute 'keeper Tom Gregors introduced off the bench. He didn’t make the best of starts though, slipping and handling the ball when receiving a pass. Andy Kanga smashed the ball home from the indirect free-kick.
Moments later, Kanga whipped a corner to the back post where Aaron Turner leaped above everyone else and headed into the far corner to give the Seasiders a comfortable lead at the break.
Ten minutes after the restart, Blackpool had a fourth. Andy Kanga was met by the on-rushing Gregors, but clever play from Kanga allowed him to square the ball to Nana Adarkwa, who slotted the ball into an empty net.
With time almost up there was still time for two additional goals. First, a fantastic scorpion pass from Antwi played Weston clean through, he took his time and fired the ball into the net.
Then the final goal of the game, which saw Antwi get himself amongst the goals, finding space in the area to trickle the ball past Gregors and into the back of the net.
