Tony Weston found the net twice as the under-18s recorded a 3-2 victory at home to Tranmere Rovers.
The youngster, who opened the scoring for Blackpool, hit the decisive winner in the second-half to secure all three points in the North West Youth Alliance.
The match wasn’t all plain sailing for the Seasiders though, despite getting off to a strong start.
Straight from kick-off, Andy Kanga was slid in-behind the defence but his shot went wide of the post.
Kanga then turned provider for the opener. He dribbled past Musuambu to lay the ball off to Weston, who took one touch and fired under Jones in the Tranmere net.
Ten minutes later, Tranmere grabbed a quickfire double. First, Jacob Walton took a ball down well to fire past Sam Kellett. Then, a minute later, Jake Burton rounded Kellett to square the ball to team-mate Nathan Corness, who smashed the ball into the bottom corner.
Having gone in behind at the break, it didn’t take long for Blackpool to get back on level terms. Nana Adarkwa crossed to the back post where Ewan Bange was waiting, he nodded the ball back across goal and Kanga was well positioned to bundle the ball home.
With the momentum now flowing, Blackpool re-took the lead. Cameron Antwi drove forward with the ball under pressure and chopped it back to Weston whose first-time effort went under Jones and into the back of the net.
The Seasiders then did enough to see the result out.
