Simon Grayson knows that Blackpool will face a much sterner test at Bolton Wanderers tonight, given the hosts’ recent recruitment drive.
Under new ownership, just like the Seasiders, Bolton made Joe Dodoo their 11th new addition last week, having started the season by fielding an inexperienced mix of under-23 and youth players.
“At least we now know the personnel they’ve got and what they’ve been playing recently. I think recently they’ve had some good results with the better and stronger squad they’ve got,” the manager said.
“We know they’ve got some experienced players – Daryl Murphy, Liam Bridcutt, Will Buckley and Jack Hobbs are all experienced players in the Championship. They’re playing in a certain way and they played well against Portsmouth last weekend and against Sunderland the game before.”
Though some other sides had an advantage playing Bolton at the start of the campaign, Grayson isn’t prepared to dwell on what could have been and is now determined to see his team back-up recent displays and get the result required.
“That’s all part of history now, you move on. It’s about what we can affect on Monday night. We need to build off the last three performances we’ve had – two wins and a draw – and go there to try and get another three points.”
