Grayson: Injury Issues Are Improving

Manager Hopeful of Having a Near-Full Strength Side for Visit of Wycombe

21 October 2019

Simon Grayson is hopeful of having a near-fully fit side at his disposal for Tuesday night’s Sky Bet League One tie against Wycombe Wanderers.

Injuries have been an issue of late for the Seasiders, with the likes of Nathan Delfouneso, Joe Nuttall and Ryan Hardie all sidelined.

However, the Manager is hopeful many of the first team regulars will see some game time tomorrow evening.

“The situation with injuries is improving,” Grayson said.

“Nathan Delfouneso was involved against Carlisle last week and Joe Nuttall and Sullay Kaikai have been back on the grass over the last few days. Jordan Thompson is back from international duty too, as is Rocky Bushiri.”

“The only one who will probably miss out will be Ryan Hardie, who took a dead leg last week which has taken him out of training since then.

“If everyone is available, then we’re in good shape.”

Looking ahead to Tuesday night’s encounter with Gareth Ainsworth’s high flying Wycombe side, Simon Grayson is aware of the threats they can pose.

“Wycombe have had some fantastic results so far this season and they’re in second for a reason,” he said.

“There is a real togetherness within that team and they have a team spirit in abundance. They know exactly what all their roles are, and they’ve got some real major threats.

“From our point of view, we’ve got to make sure we match everything Wycombe throw at us on Tuesday night and more after that to ensure we claim the three points and climb up that league table.”
