Simon Grayson says the fact that Blackpool’s trip to Bolton has been put back until Monday gives a number of injury concerns an opportunity to recover.
The Seasiders are currently without Nathan Delfouneso, Sullay Kaikai and Joe Nuttall, who will continue to be monitored closely ahead of the match in front of the Sky cameras.
“One or two are making real good progress, whether they’re going to be fit for Monday night we’ll see. We’ll give them as long as possible,” the manager said.
One player who definitely misses out on the fixture at the University of Bolton Stadium is Jordan Thompson. The midfielder links up for international duty with Northern Ireland this weekend, though a request did go in to see if he could join his country after the game.
“I did ask the question to Michael (O’Neill) about whether he would let him stay behind for another 48 hours but, as much as he’d like to help us out, he just felt it was too close to the game against Holland.
“But we’ve got a squad that has got results over the last few weeks when lads have been injured and that will hopefully be the case on Monday as well.”
