Sean Scannell was delighted to mark his first league start for Blackpool with a goal.
The winger, who joined the club from Bradford City in late August, set the Seasiders on their way to a 2-1 victory at home to Lincoln City on Friday night.
“It felt great to score for the first time here and hopefully there is many more to come. I was actually going to run to the back stick but when Feens cut it back, I just timed myself and it was great to see it go in.
“I was happy to start because it’s been a tough start to the season for me because I haven’t played a lot of games. Now I’ve come here, started and scored, it feels great.
“Normally I play on the right all the time but for this match I was put on the left. The gaffer told me to come inside and join in and that’s what I did.”
Having also played in the Central League against Tranmere Rovers last week, Scannell continues to build up his fitness following a lengthy period on the sidelines last season, when he sustained a stress fracture in his back.
“I’ve got to keep on getting fitter and fitter. Hopefully, in time, I’ll be playing 90 minutes soon,” he added.
