The Big Preview: Accrington Stanley (A)

All-Lancashire Affair This Weekend

20 September 2019

It's a relatively short trip for Blackpool on Saturday, as the Seasiders head across Lancashire to face Accrington Stanley.

Buoyed by a dramatic, late winner at Doncaster Rovers in midweek, Simon Grayson's side will aim to make it consecutive victories on the road.

The hosts, meanwhile, have drawn two of their last three fixtures in Sky Bet League One and go in search of their first league win this month.

Team News:

Nathan Delfouneso remains Blackpool's only injury absentee, leaving the manager with numerous options to choose from.

Forward Colby Bishop is set to miss out for Accrington, having sustained an ankle injury at Wycombe in midweek. Ex-Pool youth team player Dion Charles will continue to lead the line after finding the net three times so far this season.

Previous Meeting:

A packed away end watched Blackpool record a 2-1 victory at the Wham Stadium back in March, with goals coming courtesy of Matty Virtue and skipper Jay Spearing. In fact, the Seasiders are unbeaten in their last five meetings with tomorrow's opponents.

The Referee:

John Brooks, who is predominantly a Championship official, will referee the game between the sides. He was in charge of Pool's fixture away at Fleetwood last season.

Tickets:

Advance tickets for the match remain on sale at the Blackpool ticket office until 4pm today (Friday).

The option to pay on the day is also available, with tickets remaining priced at:

  • £20 for Adults
  • £15 for Seniors (64+) and Students (with valid ID)
  • £10 for 12-17-Years
  • £5 for Under-12s

Please note: on the day purchases will be cash only from the ticket booth near the players' entrance.
