As part of the Community Trust's post-16 education provision, students get the opportunity to study a full time college education programme in the unique setting of a professional football club.
It doesn’t matter what qualifications you have – there is a course for you.
BTEC Level 1 (1 year course) – Sport and Active Leisure
BTEC Level 2 (1 year course) – Leadership through Sport
BTEC level 3 (2 year course) – Development, Coaching and Fitness
After completing the year course, you will progress onto the next course whilst also having the opportunity to re-sit English and Maths alongside your main course (if required).
The aim of the courses is to equip you with the knowledge, skills and expertise in order to build a career within the fitness, leisure and sports industry.
You will be able to analyse health and fitness, design exercise programmes, analyse how the body works, treat and prevent sports injuries, develop your knowledge of individual and team sports, sports coaching and organise sports events.
During your time you can choose whether to opt for the Football Academy or the Sports Coaching pathway.

Blackpool FC Sports College’s two-year Foundation Degree programmes are designed for individuals wanting to attain a university qualification and are passionate about pursuing a career in Sport, Football and the Coaching industry.
Students will develop the necessary skills, qualities and characteristics that are required to work within professional football club community departments, national governing bodies and schools.
Delivered in partnership with the University of South Wales, all lectures, seminars and tutorials are delivered in a supportive environment offering a bespoke learning experience via online material.
Alongside the academic elements of the courses, students will complete a range of volunteering opportunities depending on the course you decide to do. You can coach within the community, alongside the Community Trust and academy staff as well as external partners, allowing the students to embed and develop the coaching techniques learnt within lectures.
Through the Community Trust’s partnership with the University of South Wales, all students will be enrolled through them and will be able to access the University’s online library, blackboard and learning materials, providing students with the best possible learning platform to excel within.
