Neil Critchley feels the victory at Port Vale was a good workout and was pleased with the overall performance of his side.
The Seasiders made it two wins from two at the start of the pre-season campaign, thanks to goals from Sullay Kaikai and Keshi Anderson, and Critchley feels good individual performances played the part in an impressive team display.
“I thought there were loads of really positive performances,” he said.
“You could see from what we have been working on in training, that the lads are really getting to grips with how we want to play. The lads are in really good condition physically, and that’s down to how they have looked after themselves during the lockdown.
“The more we train and the more we play, the better we will become in the coming weeks.”
With Sullay Kaikai and Keshi Anderson finding the back of the net for the second match running, Critchley was delighted with their contributions in particular.
“We need to get goals from all over the field if we want to achieve our ambitions this season,” he said.
“We’ve got players at the Club who can provide goals from different areas, and I was pleased to see them both get on the scoresheet once again.”
