Neil Critchley has thanked both Reading and Sam Walker for answering Blackpool’s emergency call for a goalkeeper.
The Championship side have permitted their shot-stopper to switch to Bloomfield Road on a temporary basis for forthcoming fixtures against Rochdale and Shrewsbury Town, with Seasiders’ captain and regular number one Chris Maxwell now self-isolating for 10 days.
“We’ve had to act quickly. There was a lot of communication within the club yesterday and phone calls reaching out to people,” Critchley explained.
“Sam has fortunately answered our SOS call a little bit, and that’s great credit to Reading, so we have to thank Reading for that, and Sam especially.
“He’s an experienced goalkeeper who has got many, many league games under his belt and he’s keen to come and play some games for us, which is terrific. We really thank him for that.”
