Dougall: Momentum Continues To Build

6 December 2020

Kenny Dougall is pleased with the run of form Blackpool are currently on and is hoping it can continue for as long as possible.

The Seasiders secured their eighth victory in nine games on Saturday with a hard-fought 1-0 win at Fleetwood Town to take them up to 12th place in the league table and five points off of the top six.

“We’re slowly building some good momentum,” Dougall said.

“The lads are feeling confident in the dressing room and we’re all in a good place. We’ve put together a really good run of form in recent weeks, and we’re hoping it can continue.

“It was an important victory to add to our tally in beating Fleetwood. It was a tough battle and a little bit scrappy at times, but I thought we were the dominant team throughout and didn’t really give them much to build on for the full 90 minutes.”

With that victory, Blackpool secured back-to-back 1-0 victories, and Dougall admits it was pleasing to keep another clean sheet.

“We’ve been doing well across the pitch at the moment,” he said.

“The forwards are doing their jobs well in finding the goals and the defenders are happy that we aren’t conceding at the other end.

“To come away from Fleetwood with three points and a clean sheet is a really good result for us, and we want to continue to build as each match progresses.”
