Chris Maxwell believes the point gained from the 0-0 draw at Accrington Stanley could be a big one come the end of the season.
Blackpool made the trip to Accrington with both teams in form heading into the game. And Maxwell, who kept his fourth clean sheet in five matches during the match, believes the side are showing a real dogged attitude when going to tough places like the Wham Stadium.
“I think come the end of the season, this could be a big point we can look back on,” he admitted.
“You only have to look at all of the sides who have come here so far and come away with nothing. Accrington are always at it and make things difficult for you. They’re a big hard-working team so to come away with a point and a clean sheet could prove important come the end of the season.
“We believe the team we have can be successful this season. We learned the harsh lessons early doors, where we didn’t pick up the victories at the start of the season. I think we’ve come a long way since then, and the experience we’ve had during those first ten matches has been a real learning point for us.
“I think we’ve proved over the past few weeks that we’re horrible to play against. In matches like this, we can dig deep and show a real character to our side, but in other matches we can play really scintillating stuff.
“This could prove a good point, so we’ll take it and prepare for another big game at home to Rochdale on Boxing Day.”
