Dunn: A Good Lift But Still Lots Of Work To Do

Interim Manager Reflects On The Week And Looks Ahead To The Visit Of Ipswich

28 February 2020

David Dunn has admitted it was a pleasing win on Tuesday evening and that the victory could be pivotal to the rest of Blackpool’s season.

“It’s a win which could give the lads a big lift, which is something that’s been needed,” Dunn admitted.

“It was a great chance for the players to celebrate with all of the supporters who were great on the night. Since that victory, we’ve had a really good few days on the pitch, despite the weather being so bad at the moment. Luckily, we have a good community here and we have a lot of people in the area who want us to do well, which is really helpful.”

Ahead of Saturday’s match with Ipswich Town, David Dunn has confirmed top scorer, Armand Gnanduillet will miss his third consecutive match through injury, but is back on the training pitch.

“Armand’s back running on the grass and is coming on well,” Dunn explained.

“The one thing we can’t do is throw him straight in and risk him, as he is a very important player for us between now and the end of the season.

“It will be a difficult game tomorrow against Ipswich Town,” Dunn continued.

“I know Paul Lambert well. He took me to Blackburn Rovers as the U23 coach, and is a good guy. Ipswich have a great squad but are just having a tough time of it at the moment with their results.

“We know how tough it will be, but if we play like we did in the first half against Bolton, I’m confident we can get the result we are all after.”
