Simon Grayson feels Blackpool were deserved of the win over Southend United, and admits it’s a relief to get back to winning ways.
The Seasiders ended their run of ten matches without a victory thanks to a 2-1 win over Southend at Bloomfield Road, and the manager was pleased to finally end the poor run.
“It’s certainly a relief to get that winning feeling back,” he said.
“Considering the run we’ve been on recently, we needed a win no matter what. There were parts of the game today where I felt we played really well, and I don’t think you would have thought we were on the run we’ve been on recently based on how we played today. We had a really good spells. We looked solid defensively and also saw the quality of the players we’ve brought in over the January transfer window.
“Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Connor Ronan impressed and other players around them were bouncing off of them. It was a good performance, where ultimately the three points were secured which was the main thing.”
