Chris Maxwell believes fine margins can make all the difference after suffering a defeat in his Blackpool debut yesterday.
Blackpool suffered defeat to Oxford United on Saturday in a narrow 2-1 defeat at the Kassam Stadium, in what was the shotstopper's first game for the club.
Despite the result, Maxwell impressed with several key saves, and the goalkeeper believes little things can make all the difference in a season.
"It's all about the fine margins, and they can make or break a season at times," he said.
"When we're on a run of results like we are at the moment, luck and fine margins can make all the difference and we just aren't getting it at the moment.
"I can honestly say since I've come in, the quality of this squad is excellent. There are some brilliant lads here and our position in the table doesn't reflect the ability the boys have.
"I've been in this position myself as a player before. It can take just one result to turn things around, and that could be the catalyst for an unbeaten run. We've just got to to keep going and we'll get there, I'm confident about that."
Reflecting on making his debut, Maxwell admits he enjoyed it despite the result.
"I'm pleased to be here and can't wait to push on now. This is a great club to be involved with and I'm looking forward to helping the boys push on between now and the rest of the season and turn things around."
