Blackpool suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at Oxford United to make it ten matches without a victory.
Gary Madine gave the Seasiders an early lead, but a Marcus Browne brace in the first half was enough to secure the three points for the hosts.
With less than 60 seconds on the clock, Jordan Thorniley was given a yellow card for a foul on Marcus Browne on the left hand side of the defensive line.
Nine minutes later and Gary Madine got up and running in a Blackpool shirt, giving the Seasiders the lead with a lovely finish. A ricocheted pass from Liam Feeney made it’s way to Madine, who cut back twice, turning his man, before smashing an effort into the bottom corner from ten yards out.
Despite a lively start from Blackpool, it didn’t take the hosts long to get the equaliser, through Marcus Browne. A cross in from the right hand side was missed by everyone except Marcus Browne, who smashed the ball home from 15 yards away.
An end-to-end first half was culminating in plenty of chances for both sides, but neither were able to capitalize. That was until five minute before the half time break, when Oxford’s Marcus Browne got his second of the game to give the hosts the lead.
A free kick was drifted in from the flank which went all the way to the back post to find Browne, who controlled the ball and curled it into the top of Chris Maxwell’s goal, meaning Blackpool went into the interval behind.

Oxford came out of the traps in the second half and had one or two good half chances to extend their lead. Cameron Brannagan tried a first time effort from the edge of the area on the hour mark, but the powerful effort was straight down the throat of Chris Maxwell.
Moments later, Maxwell was forced into a great save low to his left from Marcus Browne. The forward, who was looking for his hat trick, was put through on goal, but his effort was blocked away by Maxwell and cleared.
The lively Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had a good effort go just wide of the post in the final few moments of the game, with Gary Madine having a golden opportunity right at the death to grab a point, but his effort knicked off of the post. Oxford held on to secure all three points.
