Simon Grayson has provided an update on the injury to Jak Alnwick, confirming the goalkeeper will be out for around 12 weeks.
The 26-year-old, who has impressed between the sticks since joining on loan from Rangers in the summer, was substituted in the first half an hour in the defeat to Accrington Stanley on Boxing Day, having picked up an arm injury when making an awkward save.
“Jak will likely be out for up to 12 weeks because of his arm injury,” Grayson confirmed.
“He has an operation on Friday and we’ll continue to assess him throughout his period on the sidelines.
“Obviously, Mark Howard has come in over the past two matches and we have Jack Sims and Chris Mafoumbi available too, should we need them, so we're well covered in the position.”
