Simon Grayson is pleased to be reunited with Chris Maxwell, after the goalkeeper signed a deal with the Seasiders until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old joined from Preston North End, having played under Grayson whilst at Deepdale, and the manager believes bringing Chris in is a welcome addition.
“He’s a good, experienced goalkeeper and brings further competition to the position,” Grayson said.
“With Jak Alnwick out injured for a good few weeks and Christopher Mafoumbi going out on loan to Morecambe, we needed another goalkeeper to add to the competition with Mark Howard and Jack Sims.
“I’ve worked with him before. He’s a bright, bubbly goalkeeper with good distribution. He’s also a good person to have in the dressing room and I think he’ll add a great deal to the squad.
“With Chris coming in, it will push all the goalkeepers to want to improve their game even further, so whoever is picked for the next few matches will be there on merit.”
