Simon Grayson is confident a win is all that is needed to reignite Blackpool’s season.
A 2-1 defeat at Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday evening made it nine matches without a victory for the Seasiders. A trip to Oxford faces Blackpool on Saturday, and Grayson is confident with the influx of new signings, that a victory is just round the corner.
“We’re going through a really tough period at the moment, but all it takes is one victory to reignite the season,” Grayson said.
“We’ve seen Sunderland and Portsmouth this season as prime examples. They’ve had a bad run and have now picked up consecutive victories which has thrown them right into the play-off mix. Any victory at this moment in time would be welcome for everyone at the club and all of the supporters.
“Oxford will be another real test this weekend. They play a good brand of football and got a good result at Newcastle United in the FA Cup last time out, so we know it’ll be a difficult match for us. They’ll be looking at us and thinking something could click very soon with Blackpool, and we’ve got to do everything we can to ensure it happens soon.
“We’ve got a great set of lads here and with the new signings we’ve made, it only strengthens the side further and that victory is in sight.”
