James Husband is expecting a strong performance from the team for the visit of Reading and believes if they play like they did at the Madejski, they stand a strong chance of winning the tie.
The Seasiders have had an extended break having not played since the tie at Reading on 4 January. The Royals, on the other hand, were involved in league action on Saturday.
With this in mind, Husband is hoping Blackpool’s break from play could prove pivotal on Tuesday night.
“It’s been good for us to have a bit of a break, and it’s come at the perfect time,” he said.
“It was a busy Christmas period and the results weren’t what we were expecting or hoping for. The draw at Reading last time out was a good performance from the team, so to then go into a ten day break on the back of that was good.
“We’ve had a good rest after the Reading game, and the lads have looked sharp in training over the past week or so since we’ve been back. Hopefully that’ll be evident in the game."
“If we perform like we did at Reading in the first game, then I believe we have a really good chance of progressing into the next round.”
