Goals from Aaron Turner and Matthew Liptrott saw the youth team come back from behind to beat Walsall 2-1 at Birmingham County FA.
The pair struck within five minutes of each other to secure the three points, though Turner was later dismissed, leaving the side to see the result out with 10 men.
The game started off in tight fashion, with both sides battling to take control. The home side had the first chance of the game through Jayden Campbell. A ball in-behind from Sam Perry allowed Campbell to get on the end of a defence splitting pass, however his shot fell wide of the post.
On the half-hour mark, the hosts broke the deadlock. A corner by Walsall captain Luke Willis was whipped in towards the back post, where Luke Pearce was waiting to give former Pool defender Miguel Llera's side the lead.
The Seasiders pushed for an equaliser before the half-time whistle, yet their efforts came to nothing, leaving them with work to do in the second-half.
After the break, it didn’t take long for the under-18s to grab the equaliser. Rob Apter delivered a teasing corner into the area which Walsall cleared, however it fell to Aaron Turner who arrowed a strike into the back of the net from 20 yards.
Five minutes later, the Seasiders had another. This time some great build-up play on the left-hand side allowed a ball to be played across the face of goal where Matthew Liptrott was waiting to convert.
There was still work to do though, especially when Aaron Turner was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
With Blackpool down to ten men, Walsall pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, however Danny Ventre’s side held on for a vital three points in the North West Youth Alliance.
