Neil Critchley lavished praise on Gary Madine, after the forward's brace fired Blackpool into the second round of the FA Cup.
Madine scored the opener just before the hour mark with a well-taken finish, before adding his and the Seasiders’ second ten minutes later to give Blackpool some breathing room. Jerry Yates then rounded off the scoring late on to confirm the visitors' place in the second round.
Speaking on the forward’s performance, Critchley was delighted to see Madine on target again.
“He’s a really important member of our squad. He took his goals really well, so I was delighted for Gary. He’s a real focal point in the way we build our attacks,” Critchley said.
“He wanted to stay on and get a hat-trick, which was understandable, but he did his job and we were really pleased with his performance.”
After an initial tough battle against their opponents, Critchley was pleased to see Blackpool’s quality shine through.
“We had to work extremely hard for the result. Eastbourne made it difficult for us. After we got the first goal, we got the second goal quickly and that settled us down.
“I was delighted we kept the clean sheet, got three goals and that we’re in the next round of the FA Cup, which is a really nice feeling."
Tonight's FA Cup second round draw will be shown live on BBC Two and BT Sport from 7:10pm.
The Seasiders have been allocated ball number 18.
