Blackpool Head Coach Neil Critchley is hopeful that his side can build on their momentum, as they host Wigan Athletic this evening in League One.
After claiming their first away win of the season against Burton Albion on Saturday, Critchley praised the desire of his players and insists they are determined to build on their victory.
“It was a really nice feeling for the players on Saturday. We’re looking to build on that now tonight against Wigan Athletic.
“So far this season, we haven’t got the luck we’ve merited in some of the games,” Critchley added, I thought we can play better than what we did on Saturday.
“I can’t question the spirit of the players. Their application at the training ground every day has been first class.
After making their League One debuts at the Pirelli Stadium, Blackpool’s Head Coach praised the displays of summer signings Daníel Grétarsson and Kenny Dougall.
“I thought both of them equipped themselves very well in different ways. They both showed their qualities and glimpses of what they can bring to the football club,” Critchley said.
“Kenny is an experienced player. He’s got a good calming influence on the team and the group. He’s desperate to keep playing and get himself even fitter.
Ahead of this evening’s League One fixture against Wigan Athletic, Critchley is targeting a strong performance from his side.
“We’ve got to concentrate on ourselves tonight. We want to follow up with that three points against Burton and get another good result.
“They’ve had a lot of change and found themselves in an unfortunate position. We are very mindful of the experience and spirit they have in different areas of the pitch.”
