Neil Critchley insists that Blackpool must be focused and ready ahead of their upcoming test in the Papa John’s Trophy against Leeds United’s U21’s.
With a place in the next round up for grabs, the Head Coach believes that his players will take some confidence into Wednesday evening, after coming off the back of three consecutive victories.
“We’ve competed well in all of our games. The players have excellent spirit, so it’s nice for them that their efforts have been rewarded recently.
“It’s been an intense period of fixtures for us and there’s more to come. I believe we’ve got a good squad and good depth to handle that and freshen up the squad when needed.”
Critchley admitted that his players need to be on their game ahead of their clash against Leeds United U21’s, admitting that the visitors will provide tough competition at Bloomfield Road.
“We know it’ll be a tough game. They’ve got some really talented youngsters and they play in a similar way to their first team,” Critchley added. “We’ll be looking to put in a strong performance and win the game tomorrow night.”
“We want to stay in every competition were in, we want to breed that mentality that every game is important.”
“It’s still an opportunity to play at Wembley. This competition gives you that chance, we’re in a decent position in our group. It’s important we get off to a good start and play our best football to qualify for the next round.”
