Blackpool forward Gary Madine was delighted to score twice, as his goals fired Blackpool to a 3-0 victory over Eastbourne Borough in the FA Cup first round.
Madine, who started with Jerry Yates in attack, scored Blackpool’s opening goal to break the deadlock at Priory Lane with a well-taken finish just before the hour mark.
The forward then linked up with his strike-partner to sweep home his and Blackpool’s second ten minutes later. Reflecting on the performance, Madine praised the players on the victory after a difficult afternoon in Sussex.
“The lads put in a professional performance. I thought we could’ve put the game to bed earlier, but I thought on a whole we were very good and saw the game out well.
“I thought Eastbourne were very good, hats off to them. I’m sure they’ll do well this season.”
After starting the game up front with Jerry Yates, Madine was delighted to see his fellow striking partner score another goal on Sunday afternoon.
“I’m happy for him, he’s a great lad to be around,” Madine said.
“I’m delighted for him to get the goals, and if I can help him in any way, then I’ll do my best to do that.
