Match Preview: Doncaster Rovers (A)

24 November 2020

Blackpool are looking for a sixth straight victory in all competitions this evening, as they head to South Yorkshire to take on Doncaster Rovers.

The Seasiders have been in fantastic form in recent weeks, picking up three points against the likes of MK Dons and Burton Albion, before a dramatic late victory over high-flying Peterborough United last time out saw Neil Critchley’s men rise to within seven points of the play-off places.

Jerry Yates and Gary Madine are the names on all Blackpool supporters lips at this moment in time, with the pair both finding the back of the net four times in all competitions so far this season. Both Madine and Yates were on the scoresheet at Peterborough on Saturday.

Neil Critchley:

“Winning games helps to breed confidence. We’re in a good spot of form at the moment and are picking up some good results. We have a tough period of games coming up between now and the New Year, but the spirit the lads have shown gives me a great deal of confidence.

“Doncaster are very good at home and have a clear way of playing. Darren Moore has been in charge there for just over 12 months now, and they have shown under his leadership that they can hurt you at the top end of the pitch.

“They’ve picked up some good results against some top opposition in recent weeks against the likes of Ipswich Town, Lincoln City and Charlton Athletic so we know it will be a tough game for us.

“We need to ensure we go there and play similar to how we played at Peterborough on Saturday. If we do that, I’m confident we can come away from the game with a positive result.”

Darren Moore:

“It’s going to be a great game at the Keepmoat tomorrow night. They are two teams that are in the ascendancy, two teams that are playing good football.

"Their front four are excellent at this level. They’re scoring goals, they’re creating, they pose a real threat.”
