Blackpool travel to Harrogate Town this weekend in the second round of the Emirates FA Cup.
Saturday’s match at the CNG Stadium will be the first time the two sides have met, with a place in the coveted FA Cup third round up for grabs.
The Seasiders will be looking to bounce back from the narrow defeat at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night, with Rovers scoring three second half goals to secure the win. Before that, Neil Critchley’s side were on an impressive five game winning streak, stretching back to the end of October.
Harrogate, meanwhile, come into the game on the back an impressive 1-0 victory at Mansfield Town, courtesy of Calvin Miller’s first half strike. Simon Weaver’s men currently lie in mid-table in Sky Bet League Two, comfortably adjusting to life in the Football League following their promotion at Wembley in June.
Blackpool dispatched National League South side Eastbourne Borough in the first round of the competition, whilst Harrogate defeated Northern Premier League outfit Skelmersdale United 4-1 in their opening round tie.
“Simon has been at Harrogate for a number of years now, and during that time the Club has steadily improved. They’re acquitting themselves really well this year since their promotion, so we know in going to Harrogate, it will be a really tough tie. We have to be ready for what they bring.
“We want to reach the third round, just the same as Harrogate do. The FA Cup is an important competition for us, and we want to do well and progress.”
“We’re pleased to be at home, but we’re aware of Blackpool’s attacking flair. It’s a big step up and it will be strong test for us. People will expect Blackpool to progress, but I know if our team bring a fighting mentality and a group dynamic, then we will give ourselves a chance.”
