Match Preview: Peterborough United (A)

Blackpool Face Peterborough United On Saturday.

21 November 2020

Blackpool will be searching for their fifth consecutive win in all competitions, as they return to League One action on Saturday against Peterborough United.

The Seasiders come off the back of a 3-0 victory against Leeds United’s U21’s in the Papa John’s Trophy, as well as League One victories against Burton Albion and Wigan Athletic.

Peterborough United, who sit top of the table, will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend, after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Crewe Alexandra.

The Posh remain unbeaten at Weston Homes Stadium since September, with their most recent home victory coming against Shrewsbury Town. Siriki Dembélé’s hat-trick secured an emphatic three points for Darren Ferguson’s side to claim their fifth win in six League One outings.

Neil Critchley:

“We’re in a good run of form and we want that to continue. We’ve got a tough period coming up with some important games.

“Peterborough have got an excellent home record and they score plenty of goals. I’m sure Darren Ferguson will be expecting a response from his players on Saturday, but we have to go there and try and implement our game and do what we’re good at.

“I look forward to what will hopefully be a good game of football, and hopefully we can go there and carry on our good run of form.”

Darren Ferguson:

“Blackpool have got some very good players. We need to be mindful of the attacking talent they have and the threat that they can cause.

“We have to make sure that we get a reaction to last week’s performance. We’ve had a really good week of training, so fingers crossed we can get a good result on Saturday.”
