Neil Critchley was pleased to grab a first away victory of the season, in Blackpool’s 2-1 win at Burton Albion.
A Jerry Yates brace ensured the Seasiders left the Pirelli Stadium with all three points, and Critchley was pleased with the effort his players showed for 90 minutes.
“It’s pleasing to get the three points,” he said.
“You can’t fault the spirit and effort of the players and the endeavour that they showed throughout the game. We had to roll our sleeves up and fight when it went to 1-1, as earlier in the game we had a golden opportunity to make it 2-0 when Jerry hit the post. We dug deep and got the all important goal to retake the lead.
“I thought we saw the game out well from there on in, and the players deserve the winning feeling and the three points.”
With Jerry Yates now up and running on the scoresheet for the season, Neil Critchley was full of praise for the frontman.
“I’m really pleased for Jerry to get off the mark with his two goals,” Critchley said.
“He’s got such an infectious personality, and he brings energy to the training ground every day. I love him, the staff love him and all his team mates love him.
“We’re delighted for him to get his goals, and I’m sure bagging them will do him the world of good.”
