Blackpool’s under-18’s welcome Bradford City to Bloomfield Road this evening in the first round of the FA Youth Cup.
The young Seasiders come into tonight’s match on the back of impressive victories over Morecambe and Shrewsbury Town in the EFL Youth Alliance, with Brad Holmes scoring an impressive hat-trick at the weekend against Salop.
Danny Ventre’s side will be looking to make it three wins in a row in all competitions, whilst the Bantams, who finished third in the EFL Youth Alliance North East Division last season, will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways after winning only one of their opening six games.
Ahead of tonight’s fixture at Bloomfield Road, Ventre insists that his players are ready and prepared for the occasion.
“We are looking forward to the game against Bradford, as it’s a great occasion for the players,” he said.
“We have prepared well, and we hope that we can keep our winning run going.
The Academy Coach was also delighted that the match will be streamed live on the Club’s official YouTube channel.
“It’s brilliant that the game is being streamed online to provide supporters, friends and family of the players a chance to enjoy the game.”
Brad Holmes – A name that is slowly starting to become familiar amongst the Blackpool faithful. A strong, direct and pacey forward who possesses a good eye for goal, the 17-year-old has scored six goals in his last five games and has featured in every game so far this campaign.
Connor Morris – An exciting attacking midfielder, the 17-year-old made his first senior appearance for the Bantams against Manchester City’s Under-21’s in last season’s EFL Trophy in September 2019.
This evening’s match will be live streamed over on the Club’s YouTube channel. Tune in from 6.55pm.
You can also follow the game on the Club’s official Twitter account and Instagram this evening, with pre-match build up, match updates and post-match reaction.
The Under-18’s kick off at Bloomfield Road at 7pm.
