Blackpool will be looking to build on their encouraging performance against Crewe, as they welcome Charlton Athletic to Bloomfield Road on Tuesday evening.
The Seasiders will be searching for their second win of the 20/21 League One campaign after their draw against Crewe Alexandra last Saturday. Grant Ward’s first competitive goal for Blackpool secured Neil Critchley’s men a point, cancelling out Mikael Mandron’s opener at Gresty Road.
Charlton, meanwhile, will be looking to claim their second consecutive win, after bouncing back to winning ways against Wigan Athletic last time out.
Jake Forster-Caskey’s second half free-kick proved to be the difference between the two teams, ending a miserable run of five games without a win in all competitions. A 3-0 defeat to West Ham saw the Addicks crash out of the EFL Cup, before League One defeats against Doncaster Rovers and Lincoln City.
“They’ve had a bit of an inconsistent start, but they’ve been very active in the transfer window and have brought in a lot of players.
“They’ve got some good players today and they’ve more than added to that. They’ll be looking for that bit of consistency, just like us. They’re a strong team and they’re going to have aspirations of being right up there at the end of the season.
“It’s going to be a really tough game, but we want these games to test ourselves against tough opposition. I believe we can match them and that it’ll be a really good contest.”
“We’ve just put this group of players today. In two weeks, we brought in nine players and you have to figure out how we’re going to work.
“We haven’t done much together as a group, but we will work with the group, and, when we do, I believe we will go on a run, just like we did two years ago.”
Luke Garbutt and Keshi Anderson are both ruled out for the Seasiders. Though, Critchley may be boosted by the potential debut of Ben Woodburn, whilst other new signing Kenny Dougall may be given more time to get up to speed.
