Blackpool will travel to bottom of the table Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon, with both sides in need of a return to winning ways.
Burton, managed by former Derby County and Wigan Athletic centre-half Jake Buxton, currently have one league win to their name this season, which they picked up in a 2-1 home victory over Accrington Stanley back in September.
That victory over Accrington is one of four league matches the Brewers have so far played at the Pirelli Stadium this season, with a draw and two defeats in their previous results on home turf.
Saturday’s hosts come into the game on the back of an impressive draw at high flying Peterborough United on Tuesday night, thanks to a brace from summer signing Kane Hemmings.
Lucas Akins – 31-year-old Akins is the Club’s longest serving player, and has been a Brewer since signing for the Club from Stevenage in 2014. The winger has since gone on to make close to 300 appearances for the Club, scored 61 goals and won the fans and supporters’ player of the season in 2018 and 2019.
Akins was a key part of Burton’s successive promotions in 2014 and 2015, scoring some key goals to help the Club gain promotion from League Two into the Championship.
Jake Buxton – Buxton was appointed manager of Burton Albion in the summer of 2020, following the departure of Nigel Clough.
A former Burton player, Buxton originally signed for the Club in 2008, before joining local rivals Derby County a year later. The defender re-signed for the Brewers in 2017, before signing as player-manager in 2020 to take up his first step into management.
