Report: Blackpool 1 MK Dons 0

24 October 2020

Blackpool secured a priceless three points over MK Dons at drenched Bloomfield Road.

Sullay Kaikai was the difference on the day, scoring his first goal of the season in the second half after several weeks out through injury.

In a first half of few chances, neither side were truly able to break down the opposition. CJ Hamilton utilised his pace well on the flanks on several occasions, getting in behind the MK Dons back line, but the final ball just wasn’t there at times.

A real battle was developing in the middle of the park between MJ Williams and David Kasumu, as both players looked to make their mark on the game.

In truth, neither side tested the goal in the opening 45 minutes, and it ended goalless.

The match was turning into a real tough battle, with difficult conditions not helping matters. The first real opportunity came just over an hour into the game, when the returning Sullay Kaikai opened the deadlock.

CJ Hamilton’s burst of pace down the right hand side was enough to skip past Dean Lewington and feed in the great cross to a number of waiting bodies in tangerine. It fell to Kaikai who expertly smashed it past Andrew Fisher to grab his first goal of the season.

Blackpool defended well after conceding, coming under pressure from MK Dons' substitute, Cameron Jerome.

Despite some half chances, the Seasiders were able to hold strong and claim the three points ahead of a trip south on Tuesday night to face AFC Wimbledon.
