Neil Critchley lavished praise on his debutants after Blackpool earned a valuable bonus point in Group G of the EFL Trophy on Tuesday evening.
Despite the Seasiders being held by Barrow A.F.C. in normal time, the hosts were victorious on penalties to earn a hard-fought bonus point at Bloomfield Road.
Reflecting on the impact of his new arrivals, Critchley was optimistic about the different qualities they can bring to Blackpool’s side.
“I thought they all had really good moments.
“We’ve got to remember that some of them aren’t fully match fit yet. Bez Lubala hasn’t played any football in pre-season but he looked sharp and physically he lasted the game comfortably. I thought he had some good moments.”
The gaffer was also delighted about Dan Kemp’s first performance in tangerine, following the forwards loan move from Premier League side West Ham.
“I thought he had some lively moments," Critchley said.
"He picks up some very good positions inside the penalty box and he’s got a good goal-scoring record.
“The more he plays with our players and understands how we play, the more that combination will develop even further. There’s no doubt in his intelligence and qualities as a footballer and hopefully we’ll see more of that this season.
“I’m delighted they all got 90 minutes under the belt, but it’s important they rest and recover so that they’re ready for Saturday.”
