CJ Hamilton was delighted to get on the scoresheet against Liverpool, with the summer signing looking to hit the ground running ahead of the new season.
The winger has enjoyed an impressive start for the Seasiders, adding to his pre-season tally by scoring the opening goal against the Premier League Champions.
Hamilton also played a crucial part in the build up to the Seasiders’ second goal, after he was brought down by Alisson Becker. Jerry Yates dispatched the penalty kick to give Neil Critchley’s side a 2-0 lead inside 30 minutes.
Despite the final result, the Seasiders’ will take confidence ahead of their opening fixture in League One against Plymouth Argyle.
On scoring at Anfield, CJ Hamilton said:
“It’s always a dream for any player to play at Anfield and play against a quality team like that.
“A pre-season game is all about getting minutes and building your fitness up, but I’m really pleased to have got on the scoresheet.”
Hamilton also praised his new team-mates following his arrival:
“All the boys are great. I’m really enjoying my time here so far.
“It’s important we keep working hard to prepare ourselves for tomorrow night before our opening game on Saturday against Plymouth.
“The fans were fantastic in welcoming me to the Club, so I’m hoping I can repay them during the course of the season and show them what I can do.”
