Chris Maxwell believes the new-look Blackpool squad will reap the benefits of their potential as the season continues.
The Seasiders have brought in 12 new additions in the summer transfer window, with many of the new lads still finding their feet in tangerine. Maxwell, who recently turned 30, is now seen as one of the most experienced in the Blackpool squad, and insists this is one of the most talented squads he has been involved with.
“There is a real potential within this team to do well, make no mistake,” Maxwell said.
“It’s still early on in the season. We are only three league matches in, and this squad is continuing to learn and grow together. We’ve got to go through the learning curves we encounter throughout the season, like Saturday’s match at Gillingham, as we will come out of it a better equipped and stronger group of players.
“All of the new lads who have come in this summer have played their part so far,” Maxwell continued.
“Everybody is making a difference, whether that be on the pitch on a matchday or in training. The Head Coach insists that it’s not just about the starting XI who make us successful, it’s about the group as a whole.
“We’re still very early on in the new season, and I’m confident we will grow and realise our potential as a group as the season goes on.”
