Goalkeeper Chris Maxwell insists that the Seasiders are ready and raring to go ahead of their visit to Plymouth Argyle on the opening weekend of the new season.
The shot-stopper has impressed since arriving at Bloomfield Road in January from Preston North End, setting his sights on the Seasiders' opening League One fixture against newly-promoted Plymouth Argyle.
The experienced 30-year-old kept two clean sheets in his nine appearances last campaign, before penning a new two-year deal with the Club this summer.
Speaking ahead of Blackpool’s visit to Home Park on Saturday, Chris Maxwell said:
“We’re excited and ready as a group to get started in the league again.
“We’ve performed really well in pre-season with lots of positives to take, so hopefully we can take that into the game on Saturday."
Maxwell also praised the ability within the squad ahead of the new campaign:
“We’re a hard-working, honest group with bags of potential. It’s important we look to combine that with our creativity and unlock that as the season goes on.
“The players are really taking on board what the Head Coach is trying to do here. He’s trying to give us an identity and philosophy.
“We’re only concentrating on ourselves and the way we can perform. With the players we’ve got, we’ve got no problems with going there and hopefully winning the game.”
