Neil Critchley has given an update on the fitness of Grant Ward, Sullay Kaikai and Keshi Anderson ahead of Saturday’s visit to Northampton.
Grant Ward was forced off late on in the midweek win at Sunderland, and the Blackpool Head Coach has confirmed Ward will be assessed ahead of the weekend.
“Grant Ward obviously came off near the end after feeling his calf a little bit, so he’ll be assessed today,” Critchley said.
“Sullay Kaikai just felt something in his hamstring, so they are both muscle injuries. The physical exertion has a lot to do with that, obviously.
“They’ll be assessed today, but we’re certainly not ruling them out for the weekend.”
Keshi Anderson, who has been out for four months through injury, continues his recovery and could make a long-awaited return to the squad for the end of season run-in.
“Keshi has been so driven to get back as quickly as possible and wants to play a part,” Critchley said.
“He loves football and doesn’t like it when he’s not playing. He’s constantly telling me that he wants to be involved and he’s ready, but we have to give consideration to how long he’s been out, and the amount of training and type of training we can get into him, but we don’t have a long period either.
“We’ll have to have a discussion of when it’s the best time for him to be involved in the squad.”
